Episode 30: An Attitude of Gratitude

Sharing is Caring 📤

As we go about our Thanksgiving week, let’s approach it with that simple statement.

An attitude of gratitude.

How do you show an attitude of gratitude in how you act?

That’s generally reflected first with a smile.

More importantly, when you smile, look them right in the eyes.

When you look at someone eye to eye, you connect.

And then when you say to them “thanks”, it has an entirely different meaning.

My wife always says this: whenever you toast look that person in the eye. She’s right.

Because when you do, what you are toasting has a more personal meaning. It’s between us.

So if you have a smile and look people in the eye, you have an attitude of gratitude.

How do you show an attitude of gratitude in what you say?

Thankfulness.

There something about everything you can be thankful for.

And there is something in every person you can also be thankful for.

Don’t think it. Say it.

It’s there right before you. Find the reason and thank them!

When you thank someone, be specific, that really goes deep into that person’s soul.

You just made them feel valued.

And few feelings are so important.

That’s a gift you can give to anyone, at anytime, and all the time.

My challenge to you for this Thanksgiving Week:

Smile at everyone, and look each person in the eye as you smile

Wherever you go: to work, to home, to the store, to the restaurant, to the retail store.

Whoever you meet: family, friends, receptionists, servers, anyone and everyone

Say “thank you” and tell them exactly what for.

Say it. Mean it. Feel it.

When you do, you just gave the gift of Thanksgiving.

One last thing:

Let’s thank all those in our armed forces and all those protecting us who are away from their families.

I am thankful to each and every one of them, for their sacrifice so we can enjoy this week and Thanksgiving Day.

We owe that thanks to them.

They owe us nothing.

And I would like to extend a personal thanks to each of you.

As you sit through my 2MMMs.

And the best thank you I can get is that you take on some of the challenges I’ve put before you along the way.

Have a great Thanksgiving week everyone.

Let’s spend it with an attitude of gratitude!

And I’ll see YOU at the next 2MMM
