Are You Risking Your Business When You Risk Your Health?

Sharing is Caring 📤

This week’s 2-Minute Monday Mindset is about YOU taking care of YOU!

Are you risking your business when you risk your health?

The answer: Your damn right!

Okay I get it. Right now, I look like crap.  There’s a reason.

I was at a medical conference two weeks ago given I coach medical providers how to succeed and make their highest profits with their personal injury segment of their medical practice.

It was over 110 degrees outside, but in the low 60s inside. I came back sick.

Two weeks later I was up in Oregon at a legal conference of attorneys who advise state medical associations and their members.

Well, my second night there, at 2 AM, I started shaking uncontrollably.

Nothing could stop it.  Lord knows my wife tried everything.

After three hours I told her, “We have to go to the emergency room; something is very wrong; I’m scared”

Thank goodness I did.

Turns out I had pneumonia and the ER literally save me.

I was even able to get on a plane on Saturday to get home.

It’s been miserable since but it had me realizing how vital my health is.

Vital for my family that I’m healthy for them.

Vital for my business as an owner to do the things I have to do.

As a business owner, your health is your most valuable asset.

Imagine trying to drive a car with a failing engine—it’s not going to get you far.

The same goes for your business if you neglect your health.

When you risk your health, you risk your business.

Your energy, creativity, and decision-making abilities are all directly tied to your well-being.

Chronic stress, burnout, and illness can diminish your productivity and impair your leadership.

Moreover, your team looks to you for guidance and inspiration;

if you’re struggling to keep up, it impacts their morale and performance too.

Prioritizing your health isn’t just a personal matter—it’s a strategic business decision.

Remember, a thriving business depends on a thriving leader.

So, invest in your health today to ensure the success of your business tomorrow.

And when you feel off, don’t ignore it. Get to the doctor. You never know what it might be.

And the longer you wait to address a health issue, likely the longer haul and downtime you will have.

And I’ll see YOU at the next 2MMM!

THE GREAT BETRAYAL — What Healthcare Providers Aren’t Being Told About California’s SB 623

California’s newly enacted Senate Bill 623 (SB 623) is being hailed as a “historic compromise,” but for healthcare providers, the reality is far more complex. While marketed as a narrow fix for rideshare litigation, the legislation imposes substantial new financial and operational burdens on personal injury medical practices. In Part 1 of The Great Betrayal, we analyze the actual language of the bill, the lack of medical provider input during its rushed passage, and why this law sets a dangerous precedent for personal injury healthcare nationwide. It is time to look past the political talking points and understand how this legislation will impact your practice.
