This 2-Minute Monday Mindset is about a mindset of resilience and how to view the failures that comes everyone’s way.
Fail forward by embracing Failure as Feedback
What if I told you the most successful people aren’t the ones who avoided failure – but the ones who used it to their advantage?
Because failure isn’t the end of the road; it’s just feedback. A lesson. A redirection. Failure is merely feedback.
If we change our mindset to embrace failure as feedback, when we fail, we will fail forward. And not just in business but also in life.
Think about a toddler learning to walk. They fall. A lot. But do they stop? No! They wobble, stumble and crash – and get right back up. And every fail makes them stronger, more balanced, more capable.
So what happened with us all? Somewhere along the way, we started fearing failure. Maybe it was the parent pushing us to “be the best”. Maybe it’s society and highlighting what we do right and seeming to target those who make mistakes. In fact, we end up not just fearing failure but we stop trying or deny that we failed. Fantasy land. So we ended up fearing failure instead of learning from it.
We play it safe, afraid to look foolish, afraid to lose or perceived as “less than”. But the truth? Playing it safe is the riskiest move of all.
Setbacks aren’t signs to stop; they’re signals to adjust. Every great leader, every thriving business, every success story is built on lessens learned the hard way. The difference between those who risk and those who quit isn’t talent or luck – it’s resilience.
So fail. Fail big. Fail often. But fail forward. You do that by embracing failure as merely feedback. Because the only way to truly grow is to get knocked down, learn fast, and rise stronger. While others stay down, you get back up, and do it again but improved. Not perfect, but better.
Embracing failure as feedback is how you win. In business and in life.
And I’ll see YOU at the next 2MMM!
