If You’re Not at the Table, You’re on the Menu

Sharing is Caring 📤

This 2-Minute Monday Mindset is about activation, being involved in your professional industry organizations, and why it matters so very much.

If You’re Not at the Table, You’re on the Menu

In the world of medicine, the rules of the game are always changing. Laws shift, policies tighten, reimbursement models evolve. And if you’re not paying attention, you’re not just out of the loop .. you and your business are in danger.

There’s an old saying: If you’re not at the table, you’re on the menu.

And in medicine, that couldn’t be truer. Because while you’re busy with your practice, others—insurers, policy makers, attorney coalitions, and others—are making decisions that directly impact your business, your revenues, and your ability to serve your patients and your community.

That’s why you need to not just stay informed but to be involved. Align yourself with your state and national industry and professional organizations. Because if you’re not advocating for yourself and your profession, someone else will gladly dictate the terms. And trust me, they won’t have your best interests in mind.

I always say, if you don’t vote for your public officials you lost your right to complain about what they do or don’t do.

Well, in medicine, if you aren’t involved, why are you complaining, when you just sit there and let it happen?  Declining reimbursements and less access by patients to the medical care they need IS your fight, isn’t it?

If you care, then step up! This is about more than just protecting your business. It’s about leading from the front. When you engage, you help shape the medical industry and access to medicine.

This is a fight for your patients, your staff, your family and yourself. Make it personal. Because it is.

If you’re passive, you’re prey. If you aren’t at the table, you are on the menu.

So step up. Speak out. And lead from the front. Because medicine, your patients and your future depend on it.

And I’ll see YOU at the next 2MMM
