This 2-Minute Monday Personal Injury Healthcare Mindset is about the importance of value driving to get the profit and success in a personal injury segment:
Money & Success in PI Follow Value Driving
There is a path to profit and success in personal injury: it’s becoming a value driver.
As a healthcare provider, you are a value driver for all those connected to PI: your patient, the PI attorney, your peers and your business.
That starts with not doing the things that can harm a PI case, such as you or the patient diagramming how the PI incident occurred, where you might now create a liability issue where none existed before; or, where you have the patient assign pain scale ratings downloading a form or in the lobby when they don’t know the difference between a 3 and an 8, or think their attorney wants all 10s.
The other side are doing the proactive things that drive value in a PI case. By value, I’m not talking about the financial recovery of PI – you are a neutral provider. But you are an advocate for your patient’s healthcare and your business. That value is through your diagnosis, treatment, documentation and billing.
Do you realize you see your patient far more than the attorney likely sees their own client? So as you document the “before” and “after” impact on the patient’s life through the effect on their activities of daily living, you tell the healthcare story of the pain and suffering. There is far more than just that, and you need to learn about all the value drivers in PI that can set you apart from your peers.
So this week, focus on value driving for the success of your personal injury segment. Get curious and learn what adds value in personal injury and what harms value. Level up your skills and you will level up your business success.
And I’ll see YOU at the next 2MM PI Mindset!
